This report gives an overview of the new automatic weather type classifications (WTCs) introduced at MeteoSwiss. Altogether, 10 different classifications based on two different methods are calculated on a daily basis replacing the former manual classifications. These automatic classifications have been recalculated back to 01/09/1957 providing a long homogeneous time series for climatologic analyses.
